Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead an Embedded Systems and Controls team in Rancho Bernardo. The role centers on high-power motor drives, laser systems, space systems and related technologies, with emphasis on ARM processors, FPGAs, and MPSoCs.

The position requires extensive engineering leadership, planning, design, and collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver advanced defense and commercial systems.

Qualifications

• Requirements: degree in engineering or related field with extensive engineering experience.
• Active DoD clearance is highly preferred and can be required depending on program.
• Experience in mixed-signal hardware design and embedded systems development is essential.
• Exposure to Xilinx/FPGA platforms and hardware-software integration is desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and technically lead engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Collaborate with program managers to set technical, schedule and budget objectives.
• Develop and test embedded systems and controls across product lines.
• Provide design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for R&D and production.
• Represent GA-EMS as a primary technical contact on contracts and projects.
