Job summary

Canonical, a pioneer in open source software and the maker of Ubuntu, is hiring a technical engineering manager to redefine the embedded Linux experience for IoT. You will lead a team of software engineers, design and implement Ubuntu Core on ARM, RISC-V, and x86, and influence strategy and execution across the organization.

You will work in a globally distributed environment with limited in-person meetings and a strong emphasis on developer experience, security, and scalable software practices.

Qualifications

• Proven embedded software development experience.
• Strong coding skills in Golang, C++, and Shell.
• Solid Linux knowledge; Debian/Ubuntu familiarity preferred.
• Proven people development and coaching ability.
• Track record delivering high-quality software on schedule.
• Experience in agile development environments.
• Exceptional academic record.
• Undergraduate technical degree or equivalent path.
• Professional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
