Job summary

Google LLC in Kirkland, WA seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a multi-team engineering group. You will drive technical strategy, oversee architecture for AI/ML driven products, and ensure the delivery of high‑impact projects across age verification and user interfaces.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, aligning with PM/UX and international partners, and steering cross‑functional collaboration to maintain a strong engineering culture and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in Java for software development, including AI/ML applications.
• Experience designing software architecture for applications, including AI/ML systems.
• Experience in software development and with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Experience managing and developing managers.

Responsibilities

• Drive and take ownership of technical strategy and roadmap.
• Lead high-impact engineering projects across age verification, end-to-end user journeys, and native user interfaces by providing architectural guidance and setting technical direction.
• Manage, mentor, and grow the engineering team in Kirkland, working closely with established TLs to foster career advancement, skill development, and technical excellence.
• Partner seamlessly with Product Management (PM), User Experience (UX), Program Management (PgM), leadership, and the engineering team in Germany.
• Collaborate effectively across Google product areas who are driving the age space.
