Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Manager, Control Systems Engineering to lead a small team of controls engineers for utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will define, document, and verify plant control system requirements, and guide development of functional requirements, controls logic, and testing strategies.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with ISO/RTO, NERC, and FERC standards, and drive successful project delivery through all phases from design

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in power systems or related field.
3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
Experience managing technical deliverables from suppliers (domestic and intl).
Leadership in power generation, renewables, or utility-scale BESS controls.
Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a small team of controls engineers.
Develop and maintain FRDs for utility-scale BESS.
Establish processes for fleet-wide and project-specific control system requirements.
Lead supplier coordination and factory integration testing.
Provide technical oversight during commissioning and turnover.
Collaborate cross-functionally within a matrix organization.
Incorporate ISO/RTO, NERC, and FERC requirements into controls policies.
