Job summary
Ascension is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide a high-performing team in delivering secure, scalable Java microservices and cloud-native applications. You will set architectural direction, mentor engineers, and partner with product management to define technical roadmaps while balancing tech debt and timely delivery.
You will enforce rigorous engineering standards, oversee CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and incident response, ensuring high availability and robust security
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in software engineering, CS, or related field is required.
- 5+ years of leadership/management experience preferred.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- 3+ years leading engineering teams and delivery oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
- Provide architectural leadership for secure, scalable Java microservices and cloud-native apps.
- Partner with product management to define technical roadmaps and balance tech debt.
- Enforce rigorous standards for code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cybersecurity.
- Oversee production health and incident response to maintain availability.
