Job summary

Amazon in Boston, MA leads a team that builds the CI platform and deployment/patching infrastructure for 400,000 bare-metal servers. You will hire, mentor, and set a clear technical direction, delivering observable improvements in velocity and security.

You will partner with EC2 and EBS leaders to shape the roadmap, ensure safe changes, and champion autonomous operations across live customer I/O. This high-visibility role emphasizes leadership, design reviews, and scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience across software/infrastructure.
• Experience with full SDLC and live-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a software engineering team (up to Senior SDE, L6).
• Own and align the technical direction and roadmap for CI and deployment systems.
• Deliver a scalable CI platform that tests changes safely on 400,000 servers.
• Oversee automated patching and zero-impact deployments across regions.
• Drive secure, autonomous operations with canary analysis and self-healing.
• Collaborate with EC2 and EBS leadership; report to senior management.
