Job summary

Luxury Presence is seeking an Engineering Manager for Maps & Search to lead and grow a high-traffic home search experience across web and mobile. You will stay hands-on, influence architecture, and guide the team delivering fast, reliable search while pushing AI-powered discovery.

You will shape the roadmap with product and design, own delivery end-to-end, and mentor a senior, AI-augmented team to ship impactful changes.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior or staff-level responsibilities.
2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
Search experience — you've worked on search, relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems.
Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments (AWS).
Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka), and databases (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch).
Proven track record operating high-traffic, low-latency production systems at scale (SLOs, incident response, capacity planning).
Experience leading high-impact initiatives from concept through production in a SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the Maps & Search team. Own hiring, onboarding, coaching, 1:1s, direct feedback, and career development.
Stay hands-on with code reviews, architecture, thorny debugging, and trade-off decisions.
Own and scale a high-throughput search platform handling ~1B monthly requests and hundreds of millions of listings.
Deliver a world-class home search experience across web and mobile with fast, scalable interactions.
Push forward AI-powered discovery by integrating LLMs and intelligent ranking into search and workflows.
Shape the roadmap with product and design, translating user needs into a clear technical plan and owning delivery end-to-end.
