Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Agent Engineering team. You will lead a group of engineers building AI agents that handle complex customer interactions at enterprise scale, collaborating with product, design, and research to shape the agent platform and drive product growth.

You will partner with enterprise customers, translate pain points into scalable solutions, and guide the full deployment lifecycle while mentoring engineers and maintaining a strong ownership

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams on customer-facing products.
• 5+ years of industry software engineering with backend/product focus and hands-on contribution.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with async programming experience.
• Experience building complex distributed or customer-facing systems at high-growth companies.
• Strong debugging skills across deep stacks and enterprise-grade tooling.
• Excellent communication and ability to work directly with enterprise customers.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, or multi-modal models is a strong plus.

About the Role

This is an Engineering Manager role on the Agent Engineering team, responsible for leading a group of engineers who build and ship AI agents that handle complex customer interactions at enterprise scale. The team sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and real-world customer experience operations, and its work directly drives product growth and customer outcomes across industries including finance, healthcare, and hospitality.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building AI agents that manage complex customer interactions and drive retention for enterprise clients.
• Partner directly with enterprise customers to understand operational pain points and translate them into scalable AI agent solutions.
• Drive execution across the full agent deployment lifecycle, from initial implementation through continuous iteration and optimization.
• Collaborate with product, design, and research to identify cross-customer trends that shape the evolution of the agent platform.
• Help define the technical strategy and roadmap for AI-powered customer support.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and career development.
• Maintain a high engineering bar while fostering a culture of ownership, velocity, and customer focus.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams on customer-facing products.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering, with a backend or product engineering background and hands‑on technical contribution.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with comfort in asynchronous programming.
• Experience leading teams building complex distributed systems or customer-facing products at high‑growth or technically demanding organizations.
• Strong ability to dig into system failures across deep technology stacks using any available tools.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to work directly with enterprise customers.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, or multi‑modal models is a strong plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $300,000 to $360,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
