Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Winsted, CT, seeks a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Manufacturing Engineering for aerospace blades, airfoils, and rotating components. You will guide a team of engineers and CNC programmers, shaping strategy across multi-axis machining, NC programming, tooling, and process controls.

The role focuses on manufacturing excellence, process development, continuous improvement, and collaboration with operations and customers to meet quality and on-time delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive Manufacturing Engineering or advanced machining experience.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Strong background in CNC machining, process development, manufacturing optimization and problem‑solving.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Gage R&R, RCCA, NPI, FAI, GD&T, AS9100, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering and mentor Engineers and CNC Programmers.
• Provide technical ownership across the manufacturing value stream from NC programming to production release.
• Drive process capability, automation, quality, productivity, and NPI initiatives.
• Lead NPI, FAI, process qualification, and production ramp activities.
• Oversee automation, tooling, and capital equipment projects to expand capabilities.
• Partner with Quality, Operations, Materials, and customers to resolve challenges and ensure compliance.
