Job summary
DRT Aerospace, based in Winsted, CT, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Manufacturing Engineering for blade, airfoil, and rotating engine components. You will guide a team of engineers and CNC programmers, drive process capability, automation, quality, and NPI initiatives across multi-axis machining.
The ideal leader blends deep manufacturing expertise with people development, leveraging PFMEA, SPC, and GD&T, and partnerships with Quality, Operations, and customers to deliver on-time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive Manufacturing Engineering or advanced machining experience.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Gage R&R, RCCA, NPI, FAI, GD&T, AS9100, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Programmers, and staff.
- Establish the manufacturing engineering strategy for aerospace blades, airfoils, vanes, blisks, impellers, and rotating components.
- Provide technical ownership across the manufacturing value stream from NC programming through final production release.
- Build engineering capability through coaching, technical reviews, standard work, and knowledge sharing.
- Lead automation, machine-upgrade, probing, and capital equipment projects.
