Job summary

Henpen Corporation in Wilmington, MA is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a Product Engineering team responsible for Electric and Fluid Systems from concept through production and sustainment.

The Senior Engineering Manager will drive NPD/R&D initiatives, maintain QMS compliance, and balance hands-on technical oversight with team leadership across multiple programs and customer engagements.

Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS degree in Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams in a product development environment.
  • Responsible for performance management, talent development and team building.
  • 5+ years design development of electromechanical sensing fluid/electrical systems.
  • Proven ownership of products from concept through production and sustainment.
  • Proven track record managing engineering projects and workstreams.
  • Experience operating in regulated industries and familiarity with FAA certification.
  • Expert with design and analysis tools for data-driven development and problem solving.
  • US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Product Engineering organization to align with strategic objectives and growth priorities.
  • Provide end-to-end engineering leadership across the product lifecycle, including New Product Development, advanced development, and sustaining engineering, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and manufacturable product solutions.
  • Drive design development improvements of electromechanical sensing products, focused on innovation, product differentiation, and competitiveness.
  • Ensure disciplined processes are applied, design controls, configuration management, and product reliability practices, that comply with the QMS.
  • Build and coach the team, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion development and adoption of new technologies, tools, methodologies to enable scalable engineering execution and sustain competitive advantage.
  • Partner with customers and cross-functional teams, deliver solutions, ensuring strong technical engagement, responsiveness, and long-term relationships.
  • Demonstrate leadership in technical execution and customer-focused delivery, balancing hands‑on engineering involvement with effective team management.

Our client offers solutions for designing electromechanical sensing technologies and managing diverse project portfolios, including new product development, advanced R&D, sustaining engineering (field and factory support), and strategic initiatives

They need a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a Product Engineering team that has end to end responsibility for the Electric and Fluid Systems product lines, managing the full product lifecycle from concept through production and sustainment.

The Senior Engineering Manager drives innovation across new product development (NPD) and R&D initiatives ensuring robust support of the installed product base through Sustaining Engineering and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities.

The Senior Engineering Manager is accountable for maintaining compliance with quality management system requirements, including product development processes, configuration control, and product reliability standards.

The Senior Engineering Manager is a key member of the engineering leadership team and will focus on building organizational capability, leveraging emerging technologies, and advancing scalable, disciplined engineering processes.

The Senior Engineering Manager will balance team leadership with hands‑on technical oversight, leading multiple engineering programs and customer engagements.
