Senior Technical Recruiter at Pulumi Corporation

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is excited to bring Pulumi’s cloud programming model to the world. You will be part of realizing a vision where every developer can harness the power of the cloud.

The Ecosystem team works at the intersection between cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes) and developer platforms (programming languages, APIs, and application lifecycle), helping define the future of what it means to program the cloud. In this team, you will guide and grow the engineers who build Pulumi providers, create higher-level components, and enable our community to develop their own providers, components, and integrations.

Expect to be challenged, learn, and collaborate with a world‑class team and our amazing developer community.

While Pulumi is headquartered in Seattle, WA, we are dedicated to being a remote‑first company. This role can be located remotely in the United States or in Europe. There will be occasional travel (2–4 weeks per year) for internal and external events.

In This Role You Will
  • Inspire the Team: Inspire and coach a distributed group of engineers, setting clear goals and maintaining high standards for quality and impact.
  • Hire & Develop Talent: Recruit top engineering talent, foster an inclusive environment, and support continuous professional growth.
  • Deliver Key Ecosystem Projects: Oversee the design and development of Pulumi providers and higher‑level libraries, ensuring they deliver value to both enterprise users and the open‑source community.
  • Manage Product & Technical Roadmaps: Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to define scope, set realistic timelines, and ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables.
  • Foster a Collaborative Culture: Promote open communication, knowledge sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement within the team and the broader community.
  • Mentor & Coach: Provide regular feedback, manage performance with empathy, and guide engineers through career milestones.
  • Champion Community Engagement: Encourage community contributions and user feedback; actively represent the team’s work in open‑source discussions and forums.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
  • 3+ years experience building developer tools
  • Technical Background: Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or Kubernetes, and an interest in infrastructure‑as‑code or DevOps tools.
  • Capable of articulating complex ideas clearly, both within the team and to external stakeholders.
  • A track record of collaborating on or leading open‑source projects is a plus.
  • Passionate about delivering developer‑friendly solutions that solve real‑world problems.
  • Eagerness to explore new technologies, foster fresh perspectives, and help shape the next generation of developer tools.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Hiring Range: $180,500 - $220,000
  • All full‑time employee offers at Pulumi include base salary, bonus or variable, equity and benefits (details below).

Benefits & Perks at Pulumi:

  • Health & Wellness: We offer comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance at no cost to U.S. employees. Internationally, we comply with local healthcare requirements and provide regionally appropriate coverage.
  • Time Off: Our unlimited PTO policy encourages balance and rest — and we require employees to take at least three weeks off annually, plus 13 U.S. holidays.
  • 401(k): U.S. employees are eligible for a 401(k) plan with an employer match to support long‑term financial wellness.
  • Parental Leave: We provide 20 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents or primary caregivers, and 16 weeks for non‑birthing parents or secondary caregivers.
  • Remote‑First Culture: Pulumi has been fully remote since 2020, with teammates across 20+ U.S. states and 12+ countries. We support flexible work with asynchronous collaboration and an annual “work from anywhere” stipend.
  • Professional Development: Every employee receives an annual learning and development budget to support growth, learning, and career goals.
  • Equity Ownership: We believe in acting like owners. All employees receive equity and are empowered to think big, move fast, and build the future of cloud together.
  • Additional Support: We offer a monthly wellness fund to support mental and physical well‑being, and a quarterly happiness fund for team connection or personal use.
