• Lead capital projects and mentor the technical team.
• Partner with Operations to improve safety, productivity and reliability.
• Spend ~60% on the plant floor and ~40% on administration.

Job description

A leading manufacturing company is looking for a Technical Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering organization at a large, high-volume manufacturing facility. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role with significant influence over plant reliability, continuous improvement, capital projects, and technical talent.

What You'll Do

• Lead approximately 30–35 technical employees across Maintenance, Engineering, MRO and Quality
• Drive equipment reliability, troubleshooting, preventive/predictive maintenance and continuous improvement
• Oversee a multi-million-dollar CAPEX program and approximately $500K/month maintenance & repair budget
• Lead capital projects and identify opportunities to improve equipment, processes and plant performance
• Develop and mentor an experienced technical team across a 24/7 manufacturing operation
• Partner closely with Operations and plant leadership to improve safety, productivity, reliability and cost
• Spend significant time on the plant floor — approximately 60% floor / 40% administrative

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, complex manufacturing environment
• Strong industrial maintenance and engineering/technical background
• Proven experience leading maintenance and/or engineering teams
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills
• CAPEX and project management experience
• Comfortable working directly with technicians and being hands‑on when needed
• Strong communication, leadership and decision‑making skills
• Engineering degree strongly preferred
• Experience with plastics, extrusion, blown film, converting, packaging, automotive, food, injection molding or similar manufacturing is a plus
• SAP, CMMS, Lean/Kaizen, A3 or RCA experience is a plus
