Spot is seeking a dedicated and innovative Manager of Engineering to oversee our

core platform systems, engineering health metrics, and the coaching of leads and

individual contributors (ICs), while introducing frameworks and technologies that

enhance our overall engineering capabilities. Reporting to the Director of

Engineering, you will lead engineers on the Platform team, ensuring the reliability and

enterprise-grade quality of our insurance and wellness systems, while championing

data-driven engineering health, modern developer tooling, and continuous process

improvements.

This will be a hybrid in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities:

What We’re Looking For:

- 6+ years in software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a management or technical leadership role.

- Proven track record of improving developer productivity and implementing relevant frameworks (SPACE, DORA, DevEx).

- Strong technical background with expertise in Enterprise Systems, distributed systems and core system architecture.

- Experience with compliance standards such as PCI, DFS, and NIS CSF.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and mentor diverse teams.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.

- Familiarity with AI-driven development tools and code quality platforms.

- Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

- Prior experience in a startup environment, particularly in scaling engineering teams and implementing new technologies.
