Job summary

Loggerhead Risk Management LLC in Florida is seeking a senior software engineering leader to guide a hands-on team of 6 engineers across backend and frontend, and DevOps.

You will shape microservices architecture on Azure with AKS and CosmosDB, promote secure coding, drive CI/CD, and mentor engineers to deliver scalable, customer-facing digital products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on coding.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity.
• Advanced expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB and MongoDB, plus JSON.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript frontend frameworks.
• Experience with container technologies, preferably Kubernetes and AKS.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience with Git-based workflows.
• Experience building externally facing web applications.
• Strong secure coding practices.
• Preferred: experience in property and casualty insurance or financial services.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML applied to business workflows.
• Preferred: experience scaling high-transaction systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 6 across software development and DevOps.
• Design, build, and maintain production-ready software across backend and frontend.
• Contribute directly to complex feature work and system enhancements.
• Lead architectural decisions for microservices-based platforms.
• Guide the evolution of cloud-native applications in Azure, including AKS, APIM, and CosmosDB.
• Enforce clean architecture, coding standards, and performance best practices.
• Coach engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
