Job summary

Direct Recruiters, Inc. partners with a growing robotics and industrial automation company in Central Kentucky to hire an Engineering Manager with a mechanical focus.

This hands-on leadership role directs a small mechanical engineering team, guides design of custom robotics and automation systems, and serves as a technical resource for customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in mechanical engineering, strong CAD (SolidWorks), and a background in automation integration plus

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Robotics and industrial automation experience required.
• Previous engineering leadership or team lead experience.
• Strong background in custom machine/system design.
• Automation integrator experience strongly preferred.
• SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD experience.
• Automotive automation experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Engineering degree preferred; significant relevant experience will be considered.

We are partnering with a growing robotics and industrial automation company seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a small mechanical engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while developing and mentoring others.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small mechanical engineering team
• Provide technical direction for custom robotics and automation systems
• Oversee mechanical design from concept through build and implementation
• Serve as a technical resource for engineers, customers, and internal teams
• Review designs, troubleshoot challenges, and improve engineering processes
• Collaborate with controls, manufacturing, project management, and leadership
• Help maintain project schedules and engineering standards

Minimum Skills & Abilities

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience preferred
• Robotics and industrial automation experience required
