Job summary

The Lodge at Kukui’ula, part of CoralTree Hospitality Group, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead maintenance of owner units, shared spaces, and core systems on Kauai. You will work with the General Manager and Director of Rooms to uphold luxury standards and guest safety while optimizing operating efficiency.

We value a strong background in hotel maintenance, budgeting, and safety compliance, with a proven track record in large-scale hospitality environments.

Qualifications

• At least a two-year college degree or equivalent.
• Five+ years as Engineering Manager in a large, high-quality hotel; or at least one year as an Assistant Engineering Manager.
• Hospitality industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hotel trades such as carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture repair, upholstery, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical, masonry.
• Ability to read building plans, understand security/locks, manage recreation areas, pest control, cleanliness.
• Familiarity with safety rules, lockout/tagout, safety data sheets, PPE, and safety training.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license and driving record acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of owner units, shared spaces, and main systems (water, HVAC, electrical).
• Ensure guests and homeowners are happy and safe by promptly handling maintenance requests and routine upkeep.
• Keep all units and public areas in good shape and presentable.
• Help maximize resort profits by using equipment, tools, and supplies efficiently.

The shift includes working days, nights, and weekends, and must be flexible for scheduling.

Responsibilities

With guidance from the General Manager and Director of Rooms, the Engineering Manager oversees the maintenance and repair of owner units, shared spaces, and main systems, including water, air conditioning, and electricity. The Engineering Manager ensures guests and homeowners are happy and safe by promptly and politely handling maintenance requests and routine upkeep. This job involves keeping all units and public areas in good shape and looking nice. The engineering manager also helps the resort maximize profits by using equipment, tools, and supplies efficiently.

Qualifications

• You need at least a two-year college degree or something similar for this job.
• You should have at least five years of experience as an Engineering Manager in a large, high-quality hotel, or at least one year as an Assistant Engineer Manager in a similar hotel.
• It is preferred that you have at least one year of experience in the hospitality industry, either as a supervisor or as part of a technical engineering team.
• You should know about important hotel trades such as carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture repair, upholstery, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical work, masonry, and similar skills. The job also needs you to plan ahead, manage budgets, review department profits and losses, make long-term plans, and help make decisions.
• You need to be able to read and understand building plans and instructions, understand building security and locks, manage recreation areas, handle pest control (e.g., insects, rodents, and cats), and keep things clean and sanitary.
• You should have experience following safety rules, using lockout/tagout procedures, reading safety data sheets, using safety gear, and participating in safety training.
• A valid Hawaii State driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required
