Job summary

RESPEC in Juneau, Alaska, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Facilities team. This on-site role focuses on operations, business development, and client-facing project delivery, with opportunities to identify new markets and pursue strategic pursuits.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license, 5+ years of leadership and project management experience, and a proven track record in mentoring teams and building client relationships. Travel nationwide is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, or structural Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineering license in area of expertise.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience.
• Exceptional skills in team leadership, coordination, and support.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
• Five years of demonstrated experience managing multiple clients and projects while overseeing a team (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, and manage relationships with strategic partners and customers, both public and private, to build a pipeline of projects.
• Lead engineering design and project management for Facilities projects, including interacting directly with clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify pursuits and position market sector to secure new business in existing and new markets.
• Work with other internal market sectors to develop joint pursuits and encourage cross selling to existing clients.
• Mentor and develop team members in both technical skills and professional growth.
• Assist with proposals, presentations, and participation in professional organizations and tradeshows.
• Ability to travel nationwide as needed.
• Other duties as assigned/commensurate with a senior engineer role

Utilizing a strategic mindset, the Engineering Manager in our Facilities market sector focuses on operations and business development with a strategic mindset. This role steps confidently into client-facing conversations while successfully balancing a variety of projects.
