Overview

The Engineering Manager oversees a group of engineers and technicians responsible for developing manufacturing and assembly processes, reinforcing all engineering standards, and providing leadership and support to the team. The role maintains product functionality and cost efficiency, designs and operates integrated systems for economically competitive and high‑quality products, and ensures cohesive collaboration between manufacturing departments and the engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop, implement, and refine metal manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness, including optimizing tooling and work instructions.
  • Oversee projects related to new product development, process upgrades, and equipment installations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet quality standards and industry regulations, collaborating with quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting production problems and evaluate new equipment, tooling, and technology to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Review customer orders, drawings, specifications & technical data to generate MITP, checklists, MET, or MPS as required.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects and initiatives, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Work with other departments, such as design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth operation and new product introduction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
  • Utilize technical expertise to support estimate project scope, time, and costs for manufacturing quotes.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner and that company health, safety, and environment policies are adhered to.
  • Must be flexible and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • 10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read and understand customer specs and drawings including ASME/ASTM, Aerospace (AMSO & Military specs), and some NDE knowledge.
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Planning: ability to strategize and grow the engineering department over a 1‑2 year time span.
  • Technical skills in forging/fittings management, quality assurance, and estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of SolidWorks and estimating programs.
  • Experience in running and maintaining value‑added projects.
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • Spanish a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
  • Education and/or Experience: B.S. in Mfg. Engineering or 7 years minimum of work‑related experience.
  • Supervision/Management Experience: 7 years minimum in work‑related experience.
