Key Responsibilities
General Engineering Leadership
- Champion world‑class design practices through:
- Implementation of robust print and model control processes
- Development and maintenance of bulletproof revision control systems
- Defined, documented, and organized file structures
- Strategic automation of repetitive tasks and processes
- Continuous research and adoption of emerging technologies
- Prioritize safety in all design considerations and activities
- Act as a key knowledge leader by training others on best practices, tools, and technologies
- Maintain a relentless focus on delivering high‑quality outputs for internal and external stakeholders, including:
- R&D Teams
- Welders and Fabricators
- Customers and Client Engineers
- Core member of the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) team
- Capable of basic welding and fixture assembly; willingness to improve hands‑on skills as needed
- Actively participates in:
- Daily floor huddles for improved communication and transparency
- Weekly engineering sync‑ups to update team on high‑impact projects
- Develop deep understanding and proficiency with BOM (Bill of Materials) and router creation processes in Triton’s systems

Fixture and Product Design
- Lead development of Triton’s internal design process, structure, and project timelines
- Support customer‑facing design projects with a focus on:
- Statement of Work (SOW) creation
- Deliverable and milestone definition
- Work breakdown and assignment
- Development of quoting and estimation processes
- Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) strategies
- Translate customer requirements into multiple design iterations; lead design reviews and obtain approvals
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design integrity
- Balance competing design constraints (cost, complexity, user experience) to deliver innovative, effective solutions
- Professionally interface with customers; establish Triton as a strategic partner
- Identify process improvement opportunities within customer workflows and designs
Technical Design and Documentation
- Design components, assemblies, weldments, fixtures, and gauges for both internal and external use
- Translate complex design challenges into actionable engineering requirements
- Develop and oversee test plans and design validation criteria
- Establish and manage project milestones; hold team members accountable to timelines
- Continuously push for precision, repeatability, and speed in all designs and build activities
- Maintain performance metrics to validate design process improvements
Prints, Models, and Digital Assets
- Act as company expert in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Train team members on Triton print standards and best practices
- Maintain and update all training materials related to print and model workflows
- Perform model‑to‑print verification on all new parts and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Initiate and manage the engineering checklist as part of APQP procedures
- Expert in SolidWorks; proficient in SolidWorks Simulation and Composer
- Champion precision, standardization, and repeatability in all digital assets
- Lead the implementation of clean file structures and rigorous revision control practices
- Recommend and spearhead new initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy and model and print workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- 3+ years in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (CAD, Simulation, Composer), GD&T, and FEA tools
- Preferred experience with welding, fixture design, and shop floor collaboration
- Experience with APQP and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
