GCX Healthcare Solutions has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in our El Paso, TX location. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is
a real hands-on and key contributor that leads the Manufacturing Engineering team to support the site operations by providing continuous improvement.
strategies on existing and new product lines through New Product Development, New Product Implementation, and production readiness processes. Areas of
Maintenance, GCXPS (GCX Production System), process design and value stream, ergonomics, capacity, simulation tools, investment, cost analysis and
performance.
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Key member of the site’s Focus Factory and leadership team.
- Supports the activities of New Product Development, (NPD), of products identified and scheduled to transfer to the site.
- Leads/supports the transfers of new products and new technologies into the site, leads the site launch, NPI processes for new product and new product transfers and engineering changes to site products. Reviews and supports product cost analysis at launch phase & production readiness phase.
- Develops, maintains, and reviews project status / progress with site leadership, including GCX’s PMO.
- Desing Production Layouts and Process Flow.
- Ensures the ME team assists in the review of engineering projects inputs and resolves gaps and refines requirements to set appropriate project scopes to plans.
- Leads site projects with key cross functional departments, not limited to but including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, safety, and configuration management.
- Leads project scheduling, planning, tracking and communication across the site organization.
- Manage by performing Gemba walks to observe and ask questions and by being an active listener, then develop improvement/action plans.
- Establishing Best-In-Class application of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, lead and facilitate development and implementation of manufacturing process upgrades for manufacturability including safety, efficiency, ergonomics, and automation.
- Contribute to developing and driving GCX’s Operational Excellence methodology, developing/advising on GCX’s manufacturing initiatives, working with value stream leaders for improvement efforts on day-to-day operations.
- Conducts thorough studies of existing conditions and analyzes needed changes to achieve required manufacturing / sites KPIs.
- Collaboration on Best Practices for manufacturing tools, equipment, processes, and lean usage.
- Working with Design teams to insure that proposed designs are within process capabilities and manufacturability, (DFM).
- Defining tool and gage requirements and ensuring availability.
- Implementing process Validation
- Develop positive relationships and work collaboratively with all functional managers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related disciple. Green Belt or Black Belt preferred!
- 5+ years driving lean manufacturing and continue improvement concepts, through use of Value Stream Maps, Kaizens, Six Sigma, and other CI tools.
- 5+ years of direct supervisory experience leading a team of manufacturing engineers, in an ISO 13485 manufacturing environment preferred.
- 7+ years Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management experience
- 5+ years of related experience in Project Management, New Product Development and New Product Introduction
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills using fundamental engineering and lean concepts.
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, must be hands-on manufacturing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skillsability to cope with multiple complex situations daily.
- Experience with environmental health and safety inspections, evaluating the environment, equipment, processes in the work areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
- Experience and understanding of automation, tight tolerance machining and assembly processes.
