Xanterra Travel Collection is hiring an Assistant Director of Engineering at the Grand Canyon South Rim. You will assist the Director in daily operations of the physical plant and facilities, ensuring reliable performance and guest satisfaction.

Lead maintenance programs, supervise teams, manage CMMS, and collaborate on budget, safety, and compliance. This role supports capital projects and works within a dynamic, hospitality-focused environment at one of the nation’s natural treasures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, General Construction, or Engineering preferred.
• Five years of progressive supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of physical plant operations including boilers, generators, pumps, water/waste treatment, gas/fuel lines and power lines.
• Knowledge of construction, mechanical and specialized trade skills.
• Experience with developing and managing financial plans.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental issues, and risk management laws.
• Working knowledge of CMMS applications and report analysis.
• Knowledge of Historic Preservation guidelines and techniques.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license within 90 days of start date.

Responsabilités

• In the absence of the Director, assume management responsibilities for maintenance and engineering operations.
• Administers the parkwide maintenance program, preventive and deferred maintenance, and scheduled repairs.
• Supervises the Maintenance Manager and CMMS Manager to prioritize and complete work orders and procurements.
• Collaborates to optimize CMMS, implement mobile tech, dashboards and data reporting.
• Assists with budgeting and ensuring expenditures meet financial plans.
• Ensure compliance with NEPA, Section 106, safety and environmental standards.
• Develops training requirements for engineering staff and oversees safety programs.
• Plan capital projects from conception to completion and maintain documentation.
