Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Building Engineer to support operation and maintenance of building systems at the Madison, PA property. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and respond to tenant requests to ensure a safe, functional environment.

This role requires 2+ years in facilities maintenance, a high school diploma, and the ability to read technical manuals and diagrams. The position is on-site with regular hours and benefits aligned with corporate standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial building or facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, diagrams and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
  • Complete inspection checklists and report maintenance needs to Facility Manager.
  • Respond to tenant service requests with professional, customer-focused support.
  • Maintain property appearance and operational standards per JLL guidelines.
  • Assist with interior maintenance such as lighting, furniture repairs, and workspace moves.
  • Coordinate with contracted vendors and review service specifications and scopes of work.
  • Follow safety procedures, conduct hazard assessments, and maintain clean work areas.

**Building Engineer – JLL** **What this job involves:** As a Building Engineer at JLL, you will support the operation, maintenance, and overall functionality of building systems within the assigned property portfolio. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, responding to tenant service requests, supporting building operations, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with JLL standards. The Building Engineer plays a key role in maintaining a high-quality environment for clients and occupants while partnering closely with facility management, vendors, and operations teams to support efficient day-to-day building performance. **What your day-to-day will look like:** * Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and scheduled repairs on building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.* Complete inspection checklists and communicate maintenance concerns, repair needs, and follow-up items to the Facility Manager.* Respond to tenant service requests and provide professional, customer-focused support to tenants, vendors, and team members.* Maintain the appearance and operational standards of the property in alignment with JLL expectations.* Assist with general interior maintenance including lighting replacement, office furniture repairs, hanging fixtures, door repairs, and workspace moves.* Partner with contracted vendors to monitor service quality and support the review of service specifications and scopes of work.* Maintain safe work practices by following safety procedures, identifying hazards, completing hazard assessments, and maintaining clean work areas. **Required Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent required.* 2+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building engineering.* Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, construction drawings, diagrams, and work orders.* Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.* Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to work independently and respond effectively to maintenance and operational priorities. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Technical certification or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related field.* Experience supporting commercial office or mixed-use properties.* Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and work order management systems.* Basic understanding of contracted vendor management and service coordination.* Knowledge of workplace safety standards and OSHA-related practices.* Experience assisting with operating or capital budget-related maintenance activities.* Ability to support minor carpentry, furniture systems, and interior repair tasks. **Location:** Madison, PA**Work Shift:** Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.**Salary:** $28 - $32 per hourThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
