Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Columbus, OH seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep building systems safe, efficient and reliable. You’ll handle lighting, plumbing, electrical work and general repairs with mentorship from senior engineers to build a strong foundation in facility management.

You will diagnose issues, perform routine tasks, and update CMMS records, with opportunities for growth and weekend/on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required due to client requirements.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites.
• Experience with or willingness to learn preventative maintenance and CMMS documentation.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic computer applications (MS Office, Slack, email).
• Flexibility to work weekends or holidays and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine light maintenance: filter changes, lighting replacements, site inspections, furniture assembly.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues with systematic troubleshooting methods and appropriate tools.
• Complete general building maintenance: carpentry, drywall repair, light electrical, light plumbing, painting.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance and repairs with the engineering team.
• Complete work orders in CMMS and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.

If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to take ownership of building performance, this role offers both immediate responsibility and long-term growth potential.**What your day to day will look like:*** Perform routine light maintenance activities including filter changes, lighting replacements, site inspections, furniture assembly, and office builds to maintain facility functionality and appearance.* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using systematic troubleshooting methods and appropriate tools.* Execute general building maintenance tasks encompassing interior and exterior carpentry, drywall repair, light electrical work, light plumbing, and painting to preserve building integrity.* Assist with HVAC systems maintenance and repairs, supporting the engineering team in keeping climate control systems operational.* Conduct regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify maintenance needs proactively and ensure compliance with safety standards.* Complete assigned work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintain accurate service documentation for tracking and reporting purposes.* Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency response, maintaining readiness to address critical building system malfunctions, facility emergencies, and urgent maintenance issues outside normal business hours.**Required Qualifications:*** U.S. Citizenship Required due to client requirements.* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or hands-on maintenance experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.* High school diploma or GED equivalent with strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.* Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites or to obtain supplies as needed.* Proficiency in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively, along with basic computer applications including MS Office, Slack, and email.* Experience with or willingness to learn preventative maintenance procedures and CMMS documentation practices.* Flexibility to work weekends or holidays as business needs require, including participation in on-call rotation for emergency facility response.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Certifications in specific trade areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building systems.* Proficiency with commercial door repairs including electrified locks, panic hardware, mortise systems, and automatic/manual sliding doors.* Trade school education or military service background with relevant technical training.* Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems (BAS).* Knowledge of energy conservation practices and sustainable building operations.**Work Shift:** Second Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PMThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
