Colorado Mesa University is seeking a 0.8 FTE Engineering Machinist/Laboratory Technician to oversee the shop and labs in Confluence Hall. The role supports coursework and capstone projects, ensuring safety, equipment maintenance, and student mentoring in a hands-on fabrication environment.

The position offers a stable schedule with 9:00 AM–6:00 PM hours, Monday–Friday, and a salary in the $50,000–$60,000 range with comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Associate's degree and 4-years of relevant technical experience.
• Familiarity with CNC setup, programming, and operation.
• Familiarity with the safe operation and maintenance of general metalworking and woodworking equipment.
• Ability to utilize computer technology and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students and faculty.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure safety compliance for all faculty, staff, and students in Confluence Hall.
• Maintain and grow technical expertise and equipment proficiency.
• Demonstrate independent follow-through on long-term projects and initiate improvements in the shop and labs.
• Guide students in proper machine/tool protocols and assist with fabrication for course projects.
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees to assist in shop operations.
