Job summary

Hexion in Fayetteville, NC seeks an Engineering Leader to oversee the site’s engineering function, safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost across formaldehyde, resin, wax, and hexamine processes. You will lead process optimization, capital projects, incident investigations, and site training while serving as the site MOC coordinator.

You will direct Professional Development Program engineers and collaborate with Production, Maintenance, EHS, Shipping, and Quality

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of two years of experience in plant engineering or related duties in the chemical process or a similar industry.
• Working knowledge of process optimization, troubleshooting, and capital project execution.
• Understanding OSHA Process Safety Management requirements, including Management of Change.
• Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment documentation, procedures, and technical specifications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities and projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with site teams and cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization, Productivity, and Cost: Own production optimization of the Formaldehyde, Resin, Wax, and Hexamine processes at the site.
• Capital Projects and Engineering Execution: Identify, develop, and implement capital projects that improve safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Management of Change and Process Safety: Serve as the site Management of Change coordinator, ensuring changes are reviewed, approved, and documented before implementation.
• Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure safe work practices and environmental permits compliance at the site.
• Quality and Continuous Improvement: Lead Six Sigma teams to improve quality and productivity.
• Leadership and Team Development: Direct the work of engineers and participate in recruiting and training.
