Job summary

Swoop is seeking an engineering leader based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to mentor and grow a team of engineers across product engineering, building SwoopOS and related platforms. You will drive technical direction, maintain high standards, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver complex, scalable features while staying hands-on when needed.

Qualifications

7+ years of full-time embedded engineering and/or full-stack development.
2+ years of prior management experience.
Proficiency in C, Rust, Python; OS/Kernel/RTOS knowledge.

Responsibilities

Provide feedback on designs and features to improve quality; coach ICs to outcomes.
Develop engineers capable of managing large, ambiguous projects with minimal oversight.
Conduct regular 1:1s and annual reviews; set 6-month goals.
Maintain high standards for engineering and product development; provide feedback.
Communicate changes and the company vision across teams and roadmap.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams through full-cycle launches.
Ensure design and engineering docs and quarterly release notes stay current.
Ensure engineering deadlines are met; proactively communicate timeline changes.
Stay technical; contribute with design reviews or coding when time permits.
