Job description

We're looking for a hands‑on, highly skilled electrical engineering leader to take ownership of power systems for our novel titanium and zirconium materials production facilities. This is a critical technical leadership role where you’ll serve as the electrical owner across multiple power‑intensive process plants, bridging plant process requirements with real‑world industrial electrical infrastructure. You’ll work directly with our process, mechanical, and controls teams to define the plant electrical architecture, integrate process equipment, and carry the design into the field. The role will cover everything from power distribution and equipment selection to vendor coordination, construction support, and startup.

Responsibilities
  • Own electrical engineering scope for pilot, demonstration, and commercial‑scale materials production facilities
  • Develop and review medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution systems, including single‑line diagrams, load lists, grounding, cable systems, and equipment specifications
  • Select and specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment
  • Translate process equipment and utility requirements into electrical design requirements
  • Lead or commission power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination, grounding, and power quality
  • Coordinate with utilities, EPC partners, equipment vendors, system integrators, and contractors
  • Review vendor and EPC drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and electrical design packages
  • Lead electrical scope of construction, commissioning, energization, troubleshooting, and turnover
  • Support electrical safety, LOTO, hazardous‑area requirements, and process safety reviews
  • Build the internal electrical engineering function, including standards, vendor specs, and design review practices
Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, chemical plants, energy systems, mining, metals, semiconductors, oil & gas, or comparable capital‑intensive environments
  • Proven success owning electrical scope from front‑end engineering through construction, commissioning, or plant startup
  • Strong working knowledge of medium‑voltage and low‑voltage power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS/backup power, grounding, cable routing, electrical rooms, protection relays, and field installation practices
  • Experience developing or reviewing single‑line diagrams, load lists, electrical equipment specifications, electrical layouts, cable schedules, I/O interfaces, and construction packages
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, applicable NFPA/IEEE standards, hazardous‑area classification, arc flash analysis, short‑circuit studies, protective device coordination, and electrical safety practices
  • Ability to work fluently across process engineering, equipment engineering, controls/automation, construction, operations, maintenance, EHS, and external vendors
  • Strong practical judgment about build vs. buy decisions, vendor capabilities, field constraints, maintainability, and commissioning risk
  • Experience with high‑temperature industrial equipment, chemical processing equipment, vacuum systems, furnaces, rectifiers, large motors, compressors, pumps, or high‑power thermal systems is a plus
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or comparable electrical design/review tools is a plus
  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field is required
  • P.E. and experience as electrical owner's engineer on a major capital project is a strong plus
