Job summary

nVent, a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions, seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to support multiple processes, improve productivity, and ensure on-time delivery in a high-volume plant in Solon, Ohio.

You will lead projects, justify new equipment, collaborate with maintenance, product development and planners, and drive Lean initiatives across the plant. A Bachelor's in Engineering and 5+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Experience leading teams or significant cross-functional projects.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers.
• Desire to work in a hands-on, manufacturing plant environment.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement preferable.
• Experience with AutoCAD and 3D Modeling preferable.

Responsibilities

• Support several manufacturing processes to ensure equipment uptime and meet production goals.
• Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation (Routings, BOMs, Standard Work, and Work Instructions).
• Identify opportunities and lead projects to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Lead new equipment financial justifications, installations, process modifications and improvements.
• Coordinate with team leads, value stream managers and planners to optimize layouts and line balancing.
• Interface with Maintenance and operators to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Coordinate with Product Development to launch new products in a high-volume environment.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing across the plant through cross-functional events and Continuous Improvement projects.
