Job summary

Google is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager for Core to lead multi-site teams in New York, Kirkland, Seattle and other locations. You will own roadmaps, drive execution of large-scale systems, and mentor engineers across domains such as AI, distributed computing, and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 2 years in people management or team leadership.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities aligning with org goals.
• Set clear expectations and provide performance feedback to team members.
• Develop mid-term technical outlook and roadmap for multiple teams.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs and write code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code and ensure best practices across teams.
