Job summary

The Phoenix Group is seeking a Director of Engineering to own the end-to-end software development lifecycle for a scalable health data platform. You will lead application, QA, and integration engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant software at scale.

You will build a high-performance organization, drive architecture decisions, and partner with product to align roadmaps with regulatory requirements, while leveraging AI/ML to boost productivity and software quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years managing engineering teams and managers.
• Experience scaling engineering orgs in high-growth environments.
• Experience building secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud/data platforms.
• Proven ability to ship with release management and reliability metrics.
• Hands-on with AI/ML integrated into products or workflows.
• Strong collaboration with product roadmaps and phased delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead application, QA, and integration engineering teams to meet delivery timelines, quality, and security standards.
• Build and retain a high-performance engineering organization, mentoring engineers and managers.
• Define system architecture and technical strategy for a scalable, compliant health data platform.
• Establish testing, release management, and uptime strategies for production reliability.
• Integrate security and regulatory compliance into the SDLC with best practices.
• Leverage AI/ML to enhance productivity and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure feasible, phased releases with early value.
• Document and implement standardized SDLC processes for onboarding and consistency.
