Job summary

Augusta Technical College is seeking an Engineering Lab Assistant to support daily operations of the engineering lab. You will assist instructors with lab setup, train students on equipment, and help manage inventory and software used in engineering technology applications.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, organized learning environment, proctoring tests, and providing instructional support under supervision.

Qualifications

• Three years of technical/hands-on experience in electronics/electrical design, prototyping, testing, or electrical/electromechanical maintenance, or other related engineering discipline.
• Five or more years of industrial experience or applicable laboratory experience.
• Successful completion of the course(s) or program which are appropriate to the assignment as an assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist the course instructor with day-to-day activities and services of the lab area, including scheduling, lab set-up, training students on lab equipment and tools, and management of lab equipment and supplies.
• Proctor tests/examinations and provide instructional and/or remediation support under the supervision of the course instructor.
• Maintain credentials required for the position and profession.
