Job summary

UFP Technologies, Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience across the product lifecycle—from design and prototyping to manufacturing and testing—under the guidance of experienced engineers.

You'll rotate through key areas, collaborate with a mentor, contribute to technical reports, and develop communication and CAD skills while supporting real medical device projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and eager to learn.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Rotate through and contribute to key areas of the engineering process, including design, prototyping, manufacturing and testing.
• Work closely with a mentor to set meaningful goals and participate in technical discussions and reports.
