Position Summary

Position: Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: El Cajon, CA Schedule: June to August 2027, Full time, 40 hours per week

Essential Responsibilities

The Engineering Intern will work closely with the engineering and assembly departments to develop automated solutions for process and quality improvements. Tasks and objectives include:

• Learn the fundamentals of RF design, including interface families, impedance matching techniques, and industry-wide design standards
• Utilize the Autodesk suite to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models for engineering and manufacturing applications.
• Gain hands‑on experience with the EPSON robotics platform, including integration with computer vision and automated manufacturing systems.
• Explore the unique mechanical and electrical challenges involved in designing and manufacturing high-performance RF connectors

• Assist engineers with 2D CAD drafting and 3D modeling for tooling, fixtures, and production products.
• Develop and optimize robotic routines for automated assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze existing manufacturing workflows and recommend improvements to increase throughput, quality, and efficiency.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation activities.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with the setup, operation, and integration of automation, robotics, and vision systems.
• Follow engineering best practices and maintain a safe, organized working environment.
• Finalize assigned projects and deliverables, ensuring documentation and results are complete and ready for handoff.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities by documenting processes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future work.
• Present project outcomes, findings, and process improvements at the conclusion of the internship.
• Assist in creating training materials, work instructions, and best-practice documentation for ongoing use by the engineering team.

Position Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
