Job summary

Datadog is seeking Software Engineering Interns to help build and scale systems powering its observability and security platform. Interns work across backend, frontend, infrastructure, data engineering, and tooling, mentored by experienced engineers while contributing to real-world challenges.

We offer a hybrid work model and dynamic projects using technologies like Kubernetes, AI-assisted tools, and cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Solid understanding of software design principles.
• Comfortable coding in one or more programming languages.
• Interest in AI-assisted coding tools and how they improve development.
• Available to work full-time from Datadog NY or Boston offices during internship dates.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to production systems processing large-scale observability data in real time.
• Build and improve distributed backend and cloud-native services.
• Address performance, reliability, and scalability in critical services.
• Own and deliver projects from design to deployment with mentor support.
• Develop expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Collaborate with interns and engineers to deliver impact at global scale.
