Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is offering an Engineering Internship/Co-op in Heflin, AL, providing hands-on exposure to real-world manufacturing processes while you complete your degree.

Interns will design, install, and commission improvements on the plant floor, manage 2–3 small projects, and produce schedules and budgets for senior leadership.

You'll work with engineers, maintenance staff, and vendors, with mentorship, onboarding programs, and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing an engineering degree.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Awareness of sustainability issues, best practices, and trends.
• Proven working experience in a team environment.
• Strong organization, planning and analytical skills.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff with process improvements on the manufacturing floor.
• Manage 2–3 small technical projects during the internship.
• Produce schedules and budgets for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors to complete projects.
• Support plant management and present progress to leadership.
