Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply engineering and safety principles in a chemical and/or polymer manufacturing environment. Interns may rotate between sites to gain experience with unique processes and operations.

Interns will work under experienced engineers on projects across manufacturing, production, process technology, design and maintenance. Housing assistance is provided for students within 50 miles and transportation is expected daily.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be enrolled and have completed sophomore year; pursuing Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
• Recognized leadership experience.
• On-site daily; not remote.
• Must have reliable transportation; housing assistance is provided within 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• Assist an engineer or engineering manager with projects related to one of the listed functions.
• Support Manufacturing, Production, Process Technology, Process Design, and Maintenance & Reliability activities.
• Contribute to reducing waste, increasing efficiencies and streamlining processes.
• Provide root cause failure analysis of operating problems.
• Identify cost savings and/or update procedures.
