Job summary

South Jersey Gas is offering a summer Engineering Intern position to assist department managers and engineers with design, analysis, testing, project management and system integrity tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic utility environment through a hybrid 11-week program.

Interns will shadow experienced engineers, complete basic AutoCAD work, and present a cross-functional project to the SJI Executive Leadership Team, ideal for rising juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s or

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, Fall 2028 or later.
• Ideal candidate is a rising Junior or Senior; all students welcome for consideration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the department Manager and Engineers to assist in the execution of larger project responsibilities.
• Perform calculations, analyses, and research on upcoming department projects.
• Perform basic engineering design modifications in AutoCAD.
• Assist the department in the drafting, finalizing, and implementation of new technical reports and process improvement recommendations.
• Prepare and collaborate on a cross-functional project which the applicant will present to the SJI Executive Leadership Team.
