Job summary

The City of Champlin is seeking an Engineering Intern for the upcoming season. The role supports the Engineering Department with oversight of municipal and private infrastructure projects, interprets construction plans, guides field crews, and prepares daily inspection reports.

You will interact with the public, contractors, and City staff; perform GPS surveying tasks and assist with drafting and mapping using AutoCAD and ArcGIS, gaining hands-on experience in a municipal engineering office.

Qualifications

• Must be a.currently enrolled engineering student or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of construction plans and specifications desirable.
• Willingness to learn and assist with field and drafting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction plans and specifications for field crews.
• Prepare and document daily inspection reports and project records.
• Assist with surveying tasks using GPS equipment and with drafting/mapping in AutoCAD/ArcGIS.
