Job summary

Starting rates for FedEx Freight internship in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR are $25.00/hour for Bachelor’s degree track and $30.00/hour for graduate level. Interns train with management and staff, gaining hands-on experience in assigned departments.

Eligible students must be enrolled junior level or higher (or have graduated within 12 months) and pursue chemical or mechanical engineering with a focus on transportation logistics or quantitative disciplines. Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at junior level or above (or graduated within the last 12 months) at an accredited college or university.
• Major or course of study toward a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering, with a preferred focus on transportation logistics or other quantitative discipline
• A GPA of 3.0 or above
• Depending on the functional area supported, additional knowledge, skills, abilities and experience may be required
• May require completion of courses related to specific functional department assigned
• Must be reliable and exhibit follow-through
• Must be adept in completing assignments and solving problems
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member

Starting Rate of Pay: Bachelor's: $25.00/hour, Graduate: $30.00/hour

This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR.

Individuals who relocate 50 or more miles for this position may qualify for a $2,000 relocation allowance following the start of the internship, subject to satisfying documentation requirements

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Train with department management, professional and support staff in order to gain work experience. Gain a working knowledge of applications and tools related to assigned functional area; perform assigned tasks and project work with supervision; specific duties/tasks determined by department management. Assignments are directly related to Intern’s field of study.
