Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM invites engineering students to apply for a part-time internship supporting safe and secure transportation initiatives. Qualifications

Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related undergraduate program.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to brainstorm solutions to challenging technical problems.
Participate in planned tours, activities, and staff briefings.
Apply data analytics techniques for feature extraction.
Conduct analyses of safety and security assessments.
Develop computer models of components and structures.
Conduct full scale crash simulations.
Support assembly and testing of components and systems.
Analyze data and make assessments on requirements verification.
Develop conceptual prototypes of designs for demonstration, integration, and testing in Security Systems.
