Trans-Tech in Adamstown, MD is seeking an Engineering Intern for Spring 2027. The role supports Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and/or R&D in developing and manufacturing advanced ceramic materials and ferrimagnetic/dielectric powders.

Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and experiments for powder formulation, processing, and characterization under supervision. Preference for juniors with relevant coursework and strong MS Office skills.

Qualificações

• Currently enrolled in BA/BS/MS program studying Ceramics Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or RF/Electrical Engineering
• Completed coursework or experience with Analytical / DOE Software such as JMP or Mini-Tab
• Completed coursework and/or exposure to Solidworks or Materials Analysis
• Interest in working in a Ceramic Manufacturing environment and the desire to understand the basics of Ceramic Material processing
• Self-starter with ability to effectively work independently or as a member of a team
• Potential interaction with local universities including travel to campuses to perform advanced analytical testing and measurement correlations
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
• Demonstrate good communication, organizational and documentation skills

Responsabilidades

• Assists Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and/or R&D Departments by performing various Engineering tasks, such as collecting and analyzing process data and monitoring core Ceramic Material processes.
• Interact with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to review material requirements and processing methods.
• Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for a process or material specifications.
• Conceive, plan and carry out experiments for solid oxide powder formulation & synthesis, powder & slurry processing, forming, ceramic sintering and post firing evaluation of material properties.
