Job summary

The Technology House, LTD in Streetsboro, OH is seeking a part-time Engineering Intern to support basic production activities in manufacturing. This hands-on role offers learning opportunities across injection molding and related processes, reporting to the Floor Supervisors and Operations Manager.

You will help operate equipment, perform finishing tasks, and assist with quality checks, while adhering to safety and policy standards.

Qualifications

  • Injection mold experience preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Basic computer skills and basic math skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate injection molding equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform finishing tasks with basic hand tools as assigned.
  • Count and package parts to ensure accuracy and preservation of product.
  • Report and record defects and communicate with Floor Supervisor.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to operational policies, quality policies, and safety policies.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area.
  • Visually inspect parts to requirements and detect errors.
  • Communicate with quality control to verify part acceptance.
  • Perform in-process inspections.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Installation of inserts as assigned.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to traveler and blueprint instructions while learning how to read basic blueprints.
  • Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Engineering Interns are responsible in supporting basic production activities. This hands‑on internship is an opportunity to learn and understand manufacturing processes. This includes parts on/parts off in the Injection Molding department (or performing similar duties by supporting other processes such as Carbon, Urethane, 3‑D Printing or HP), installing inserts or basic finishing of parts. This role reports to the Floor Supervisors and works closely with the Operations Manager. Engineering Interns must be able to communicate effectively, work in a fast‑paced environment, and manage their personal workload.

RESPONSIBILITIES
a)Operate injection molding equipment safely and effectively
b)Perform finishing tasks with basic hand tools as assigned
c)Count and package parts to ensure accuracy and preservation of product
d)Report and record defects and communicate with Floor Supervisor
e)Read, understand, and adhere to operational policies, quality policies, and safety policies
f)Ensure cleanliness of work area
2.Quality Assurance
a)Visually inspect parts to requirements and detect errors
b)Communicate with quality control to verify part acceptance
c)Perform in‑process inspections

d)Contribute to process improvement initiatives

3.Operations
a)Installation of inserts as assigned
b)Read, understand, and adhere to traveler and blueprint instructions while learning how to read basic blueprints
c)Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Injection mold experience preferred, but training will be provided
  • Basic computer skills and basic math skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Reliable transportation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, bend into machinery, and perform lifting, push/pull tasks, kneeling and stooping motions, ability to push buttons, fine motor skills
  • Experience reading blueprints preferred
