Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field; entering junior or senior year.
• Minimum overall GPA 2.8.
• Eaton will not sponsor CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or work authorization.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Engineering Intern at our North Charleston, SC facility.

In this internship, you will:

• Gain an understanding of how various functional processes must interact to achieve common goals of safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Develop understanding of CNC machining process.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing and product development.
• Become a part of an effective team working together to accomplish the mutual objective.
• Analyze various process for productivity and safety improvements.
• Create and improve work instructions for various processes.
• Recognize how everyone’s contribution affects the end product that we build day-in and day-out.
• Gain an understanding of the financial aspects of the business and how complete and accurate Engineering deliverables leads to the company’s success.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field, and be entering your junior or senior year
• Must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership through campus organizations, student projects, athletics, volunteer activities, or community involvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement concepts.
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to analyze problems, evaluate solutions, and apply critical-thinking skills to engineering challenges.
