Job summary

Fibrebond by Eaton offers a Summer Engineering Internship Program consisting of four interns for 12 weeks, starting in June 2026. The position pays $23.00 per hour. Salaries are guidelines based on skills, experience, and market factors.

Interns will gain exposure to Lean manufacturing, product development, and process improvements. Relocation assistance is provided for candidates outside a 50‑mile radius of Minden, LA, and a hands-on production facility environment is included.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in ME/EE/IE, entering junior or senior year.
• GPA minimum 2.8.
• Willing to relocate to Minden, LA for duration and eligible for relocation assistance if outside 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of cross-functional interaction to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery goals.
• Assist manufacturing engineers and learn standard work processes.
• Work with quality inspectors and learn quality processes.
• Support project engineers and learn engineering design standards.
• Contribute to group projects to improve a manufacturing process and report outcomes to leadership.

What you’ll do

Fibrebond by Eaton has established a Summer Engineering Internship Program that will consist of four (4) engineering interns.

This is a 12-week, full-time internship scheduled to start in June 2026.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour.

• Gain an understanding of how various functional processes must interact to achieve common goals of safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Internship highlights

• Spend 5 weeks working in the manufacturing plant areas and learn the process flow.
• Accompany a supervisor for hands‑on experience in the production facility.
• Work with Quality Inspectors and learn various aspects of the quality process.
• Assist Project Engineers and learn standard work processes, standard documents, Engineering and design standards, how to design a PDC, etc.
• Follow a Manufacturing Engineer to understand process flow and the many components of the manufacturing process.
• Learn about Lean manufacturing and product development.
• Work on a group project(s) along with fellow Engineering Interns to improve a manufacturing process.
• Report out to the leadership team on outcomes of assigned projects.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field, and be entering your junior or senior year
• Must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

• Must be geographically flexible and able to relocate to the Minden, LA area for the duration of the internship. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Minden, LA

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership through campus organizations, student projects, athletics, volunteer activities, or community involvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement concepts.
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to analyze problems, evaluate solutions, and apply critical‑thinking skills to engineering challenges.
