Job summary

Hendrickson in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Design (Mechanical) Engineering Coop to gain exposure to mechanical design and development engineering functions.

You will use AutoCAD and Creo to create/revise drawings and 3D models, update drawings, ensure quality standards, and support various tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or related course of study preferred.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 recommended.
• Hands-on CAD experience is a strong positive (AutoCAD, Creo Pro Engineer).
• Experience in metalworking and fabricating environments is a plus.
• Introduction to GD&T is a plus.

POSITION / TITLE: Design (Mechanical) Engineering Coop

STATUS: Full Time

FLSA: Non-Exempt

HOURLY/SALARY: Salaried

Position Purpose:

In this position, the co-op will be exposed to a variety of mechanical design and development engineering functions.

Essential Functions:

• Work with AutoCAD and Creo (Pro Engineer) to create/revise part and assembly drawings and 3D models.
• Assist in consolidating and updating product family drawings.
• Assist in obsoleting legacy product drawings and part numbers.
• Observe that all applicable quality standards are met in the product.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Education and Training

• Mechanical Engineering or related course of study preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 recommended.
• Strong PC skills (spreadsheets, databases, word processing) a must.
• Experience in metalworking and fabricating environment a positive.
• Hands-on experience with CAD technology is a strong positive (AutoCAD, Creo Pro Engineer).
• Experience performing DFMEAs a positive.
• Study of automatic/hand welding a positive.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Introduction to GD&T a positive.
