Talen Energy is seeking an Engineering Instructor to coordinate and administer Training Programs at the Susquehanna Nuclear Training discipline near Berwick, PA. This on-site role supports a major dual-unit Boiling Water Reactor facility delivering carbon-free electricity to the grid.

Responsibilities include designing and evaluating training materials, presenting courses, writing procedures, and ensuring INPO-aligned program standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years engineering experience at an operating nuclear plant.
• Experience as an instructor.
• Maintain Instructor qualifications (SME or NTG Instructor).
• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop and evaluate training materials.
• Present training courses.
• Write and revise technical training procedures.
• Develop and administer end of course evaluations.
• Develop and maintain program basis documents (training plans, staffing plans, etc.).
• Participate in the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization in an “on-call” status.
• Maintain the training programs in compliance with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) criteria.

Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position of Instructor for Engineering at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania.

Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, one of the largest dual-unit, Boiling Water Reactor sites in the U.S., delivers approximately 2600 MW of carbon-free electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The purpose of this position is to coordinate and administer Training Programs, specifically within the Nuclear Engineering Training discipline. Qualified Engineering candidates will be considered for Engineering positions in the event an internal Engineering candidate is selected for the Engineering Instructor position.

Instructor’s job responsibilities:

Engineering Instructor

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

4. Maintain Instructor qualifications [Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Nuclear Training Group (NTG)Instructor].
5. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from a college or university accredited by ABET or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent.
