Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College seeks an Instructor - Engineering to prepare lesson plans and deliver credited Engineering courses at the Gwinnett Technical College campus. This role requires developing syllabi, setting goals and objectives, and teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed.

The position reports to the Dean and offers full-time, benefited employment under FLSA Exempt/Professional terms.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in discipline or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours.
• Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology areas.

Responsibilities

• Teaches credited Engineering courses as assigned in accordance with course standards and approved syllabi.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction.
• Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests.
• Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Meets with students, staff and educators to discuss instructional programs and curricula.
• Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
