Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a skilled engineering leader to guide division capital maintenance, supervise field crews, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across the Vancouver, WA area. The role involves collaboration with Passenger Ops, NOC, and other stakeholders to execute maintenance programs efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Current BNSF employee with FLS Certification.
  • Tier III certification from a Manager of Engineering Certification.
  • Knowledge of railroad union agreements.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of BNSF Engineering processes.
  • Experience supervising Engineering field forces and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements.
  • Safety-focused and able to work in safety-sensitive environments.
  • Able to climb on/off equipment.
  • Able to bend, walk, stand and sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in directing capital maintenance across the division.
  • Maintain compliance with safety rules, work practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with Passenger Ops, NOC, Division Transportation, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and FRA standards.
  • Manage budgets for the division’s workgroups and capital construction.
  • Supervise the Division Roadmaster and field teams.
  • Assist in division coverage for emergency response and weekend duty.
  • Support Capital Construction and Capital Maintenance programs.
