Job summary

ABM Industries in Detroit, MI seeks a Manager of Engineering to direct engineering staff and service contractors for building maintenance, safety plans, and equipment install. Lead preventive maintenance, staff training, stock control, and scheduling while upholding ABM standards.

The role requires relevant licenses, energy conservation knowledge, and strong communication. Compensation ranges from $115,000 to $125,000 yearly, with potential bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience commensurate with the facility size and role.
• Strong communication and training ability.
• Valid stationary engineer/HVAC license and refrigerant recovery license.
• LEED or BOMA credentials are a plus.
• MS Office proficiency and building automation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and QA inspections; propose improvements.
• Provide hands-on and classroom training for engineering staff.
• Manage stock levels of engineering equipment and parts.
• Schedule engineers, prioritize work orders, and allocate resources.
• Prepare labor and material requisitions and reports for management.
• Develop and update the preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure safety standards and ABM policies are followed.
